Sarah Lacoche takes over as head of DGCCRF
Sarah Lacoche, Inspector General of Finance, has been appointed Director General of Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF). She succeeds Virginie Beaumeunier, who held this position from January 2018 to December 2022 and joined the Inspectorate General of Finance as Inspector General in January 2023.
Sarah Lacoche began her career at the Ministry of Finance as a debt expert at the Paris Club. After several positions in international financial organizations (World Bank, International Monetary Fund), she joined the cabinet of French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde as technical advisor in charge of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and was appointed to the Inspectorate General in 2009.
At the end of her four-year "tour", Sarah Lacoche held a number of management positions in major public organizations: head of the strategic steering division at the Agence Française du Développement (AFD) in 2013, director of administration and then deputy CEO of the Agence Nationale de la Rénovation Urbaine (ANRU) in 2016, director of the finance department at the Banque des Territoires in 2020. She also became Inspector General of Finance in 2020.
As DGCCRF, Sarah Lacoche will be responsible for leading the DGCCRF's support, control and investigation activities in the face of three major challenges: defending the purchasing power of the French, the environmental transition, and the digitalization of consumption patterns (particularly the regulation of influencers) and markets.
