Death of Jean-Yves Haberer
Dear all,
I am saddened to announce the death of Mr . Jean-Yves Haberer, Honorary General Inspector of Finance, at the age of 93.
He joined the Inspectorate General of Finance in 1959 on graduating from ENA ("Vauban" class). In 1966, he was appointed technical advisor to Michel DEBRÉ, Minister of the Economy and Finance, and followed him to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1968, then to the Ministry of National Defense as Chief of Staff. In 1976, he headed the private office of Michel Durafour, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of the Economy and Finance, then that of Robert Boulin, Minister Delegate for the Economy and Finance.
In 1978, he was appointed Director of the French Treasury and helped set up the European Monetary System. He went on to head the Paribas group from 1982 to 1986, then Crédit Lyonnais from 1988 to 1993.
He was also the author of a wide range of academic, literary and autobiographical works.
For those wishing to participate in spirit or in person in the religious ceremony, a mass will be held at the Eglise d'Auteuil, on Thursday April 3 at 2:30 pm.
