Death of Yves Roland-Billecart, community dean

We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of our comrade Yves Roland-Billecart, Inspecteur des Finances, on August 24, 2028 at the age of 98. Yves Roland-Billecart was the dean of the Inspectorate General of Finance community.

A graduate of Sciences Po and ÉNA (promotion Jean Giraudoux), he joined the Service in 1952, then held a number of positions in ministerial cabinets, strongly committed to development and social justice. Technical advisor to Louis Joxe, Minister of State for Algerian Affairs, he was one of the negotiators of the Evian Agreements signed on March 19, 1962.

In 1967, Yves Roland-Billecart joined the Caisse centrale de coopération économique (CCCE), forerunner of the Agence française de développement (AFD), where he was Chief Executive Officer from 1979 to 1989. For the rest of his life, he followed the development of the AFD group, whose importance and missions he never ceased to defend.

In 1989, he became CEO of the airline Air Afrique.

He had been a member of the Académie des Sciences d'Outremer (ASOM) since 1999.

Funeral services were held on September 3, 2024.
